Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, individualized nursing care to critically ill patients in an ICU/CCU setting, applying scientific nursing principles
- Consult and coordinate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
- Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, and IV routes; report adverse reactions per facility policy
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and oxygen pumps; interpret and record hemodynamic data such as central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms
- Initiate and deliver patient and family education plans as prescribed, covering post-treatment care, medication self-administration, and rehabilitation
- Respond to life-saving situations in accordance with nursing standards and protocol, and maintain concise, accurate, and timely documentation of all care
Required Qualifications
- Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Valid ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Active, valid RN license in the state of practice or a qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license; compact license holders must provide verification of suicide training and demographic data via Nursys e-Notify
- Proof of right to work in the United States
- Critical care experience in a hospital setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, phlebotomy, and IV protocols
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and function
- Familiarity with ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic and lab results in a critical care environment
