Contract | Nights | 3x12 or 4x10 shifts (18:00–06:30) | Every other weekend required | On-call as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings, including airway management, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy
• Perform and assist with airway management procedures including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Administer nebulizer treatments via handheld, T-piece, and trach collar delivery methods
• Manage oxygen therapy modalities including bag and mask, ET tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), T-piece, trach collar, and Venturi masks
• Manage and troubleshoot ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, high pressure alarm troubleshooting, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records; float within scope to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license — must be active and in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Demonstrated experience in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
• Local candidates are welcome — no radius restriction

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a teaching hospital environment
• Community hospital experience
• Trauma Level I or Level II facility experience
