Registered Nurse – Hospice In-Patient Unit

Contract | Night Shift | On-call requirement of approximately 2 shifts/month expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, intensive medical end-of-life care to hospice patients in a short-term inpatient setting
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and apply critical thinking for symptom management across a broad range of diagnoses
• Educate patients and families on personal goals of care, empowering caregivers with confidence in supporting their loved ones
• Deliver holistic care encompassing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure personalized, patient-centered care in a home-like environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado or compact license eligibility
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work night shifts with an expected on-call commitment of approximately 2 shifts per month
• Ability to complete a 3-day daytime orientation (8am–5pm) prior to transitioning to night shift

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life nursing
• Experience in symptom management across multiple disease types
• Demonstrated ability to provide family-centered education and emotional support during difficult times
