Contract | 12-Hour Nights (18:45–07:15) | 3x12 per week | 36- and 48-hour weeks may be available | Contracts accepted from 16 weeks up to a hard stop of February 27, 2027 | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a sub-specialized neurological and medical intermediate patient population with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, and engage Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, including Levopamine (LEVO), and manage IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Perform and manage neurological nursing care including CVA, intracranial bleeds, craniotomy, TBI, spinal cord injury, aneurysm repair, lumbar drains, post-TPA care, and seizure disorders
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
• Float to other intermediate areas and critical care (ICU/Stepdown) units as needed per unit requirements; expected to work a minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state license or Compact license accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Neuro Stepdown or PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown and Telemetry experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required; also utilizes Pyxis and SBAR
• Must be able to titrate LEVO and vasoactive/cardiac drips; proficiency in central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, PCA, and thrombolytic agents required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start; first-time travelers will not be accepted; local candidates are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with port access/management and phlebotomy
• Experience with triage, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Charge Nurse experience
• Preferred certifications: CCRN, TNCC, CPI
