Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients on a basic Medical/Surgical unit
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage clinical situations; willingness to float is required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing setting
• Must be willing to float as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR
• Familiarity with a 5:1 or 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio environment
