Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Hematology/Oncology unit serving patients with diagnoses including lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
• Perform and manage telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response Teams
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IV lines, phlebotomy, and feeding tube care
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention; float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license) required at time of submission
• Minimum Med/Surg experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Proficiency with telemetry, IV therapy, blood product administration, and computerized charting (Epic)
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Locals are accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Hematology/Oncology nursing experience preferred
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification preferred
• Experience with oncologic emergencies, including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
