Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with 48 beds (flexing up to 62 with hall beds), serving a combined adult and pediatric population
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of up to 1:4 for regular ED patients; hold assignments may include ratios of 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, administer procedural sedation, continuous IV sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Operate and monitor patients on CPAP/BiPAP and ventilators; perform phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Serve in a Charge Nurse capacity — willingness to work charge is required
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed; floating is 100% required of all travelers

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand prior to start date
• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience; at least Level 2 trauma center experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS
• Proficiency in: general ED (combined adult/pedi), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, phlebotomy, IV insertion, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, and isolation precautions
• Must be willing and able to work Charge Nurse assignments
• Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Indiana residents are not accepted for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred
• Experience managing behavioral health patients in an emergency setting
