Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | On-call required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care across a 12-room operating room suite serving a Level 3 trauma center
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across multiple service lines including general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN
- Participate in on-call coverage, including up to 2 late call shifts per week (until 11:00 PM) and every 3rd to 4th weekend call
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Wear a radiation badge at all times when required; badge must be supplied by the staffing agency prior to start
- Be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room setting with broad specialty competency (general, neuro, ortho, ENT, GYN)
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license required (candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application)
- BLS certification required
- Radiation badge required and must be provided by the staffing agency — the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Well-rounded OR background with demonstrated competency across multiple surgical service lines
- Prior travel nursing experience, though first-time travelers with broad specialty competency will be considered
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
