Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Palliative Care)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 19:00–07:30

Key Responsibilities

• Provide symptom management and comfort-focused care for patients with serious illness, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
• Support patients still actively undergoing treatment by focusing on quality of life and relief from side effects
• Float to other high-acuity med/surg units of equivalent or lower acuity level as needed
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centered palliative care

Required Qualifications

• Active, valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
• BLS certification required
• EPIC experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references)
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Med/surg background with interest in developing palliative care skills
• Comfort working in high-acuity environments and adapting to floating assignments
