Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 13–26 Week Assignment | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit managing typical M/S diagnoses including dementia, diabetes, COVID, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, hip fracture, and related conditions
• Perform and manage a broad range of clinical skills including IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line blood draws, PICC line management, phlebotomy, colostomy care, feeding tube care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Monitor patients using remote telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and utilize Rapid Response Team protocols as needed
• Manage non-invasive airway support including CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, oxygen face masks, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen; perform wound care including wound vac management
• Maintain isolation precautions, including care within a dedicated COVID isolation area; float to other units within or near the facility as needed based on unit needs
• Participate as an assigned member of the Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Proficiency in Med/Surg and remote telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and a broad range of clinical skills as listed
• Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a lower rate applies for local candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• MS/Telemetry experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with accessing ports, insulin management, CVA care, surgical drains, interpretation of ABGs, and tracheostomy management
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system
• Experience caring for stroke (CVA) patients
