Registered Nurse – PCU / Clinical Decision Unit (Travel)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required | No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care, including medical-surgical and step-down patients
• Manage short-stay patients (target length of stay under 24 hours) in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for all patients hardwired to bedside monitors as indicated
• Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, and CNAs across day and night shifts to maintain safe patient ratios (1:5, with 1:6 stretch dependent on level of care)
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to other units within the facility as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• Telemetry competency — required; candidates without this skill will not be considered
• Progressive Care experience — required; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• BLS certification — required
• ACLS certification — required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care or step-down unit experience
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience in high-acuity, fast-turnover inpatient environments
