Contract | Days | 8-hour shifts, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. | Monday–Friday with occasional weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital setting at a 1:1 patient ratio
• Perform assessment, reassessment, and treatment of acutely ill patients presenting with a variety of diagnoses including CVA, dementia/Alzheimer's, spinal cord injury, upper-extremity conditions, hip fractures/total hip replacements, and knee injuries/total knee replacements
• Conduct adaptive equipment assessments and cognitive assessments for adult patients
• Perform lifting, transfers, and mobility-related interventions as required
• Deliver patient and family education throughout the continuum of care
• Float within the hospital within scope of practice to meet facility needs; document using PowerChart/Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland OT state license required at time of submission (Maryland or Compact license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care hospital experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Demonstrated experience with CVA rehabilitation, dementia/Alzheimer's, spinal cord injury, upper-extremity conditions, hip fractures/total hip replacements, and knee injuries/total knee replacements
• Experience with lifting and transfers, patient and family education, adaptive equipment assessment, cognitive assessment, and treating acutely ill patients with varied diagnoses

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with PowerChart/Cerner charting system
• Experience working with geriatric patient populations in a hospital environment
• Comfort floating across units within scope of practice
