Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 13–26 Week Contracts | 36 or 48-Hour Contracts Accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care for adult medical surgical and surgical stepdown patients with a wide range of diagnoses including cellulitis, appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, trauma (MVA, GSW, falls), various cancers, bowel obstruction, peripheral vascular disease, and more
• Support and assist with a broad range of inpatient surgical procedures including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair, TURP, ostomy creation or closure, wound debridement, tumor removal, amputations, and fem-pop bypass
• Manage and monitor special equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes, NG tubes, Corpak, JP drains, hemovac drains, and Penrose drains
• Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for unit communication
• Float to other units or areas within the facility as needed
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters; unit consolidation and reassignment may occur mid-contract

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical or Telemetry RN experience required; first-time travelers with sufficient experience will be considered
• Comfort with patient ratios of 1:6 on a surgical/medicine inpatient floor
• Availability for every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays; no on-call required
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a combination acuity setting (adult medical surgical and surgical stepdown)
• Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Experience managing post-surgical patients and complex wound care equipment
• Exposure to trauma patient populations
