Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 6:30–17:00 | 1–2 Weekends per Month Required | At least 10 Call Shifts per Month Required (Call hours: 17:00–06:30)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as singular scrub technologist for cardiothoracic surgical cases, including CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, minimally invasive valve procedures, VATS, Mediastinoscopy, RATS, and CVL support with carotid cutdowns and laser lead standby
- Float to general OR as needed to support a daily average surgical case volume of approximately 55 cases
- Perform flexible endoscope reprocessing as required
- Fulfill on-call obligations of at least 10 call shifts per month during off-hours (17:00–06:30); candidates must agree to this requirement prior to placement
- Utilize EPIC for clinical charting and documentation
- Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Washington State surgical technologist license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending license accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in General, Cardiovascular/Thoracic, and Laparoscopic surgical scrubbing
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Must be available for at least 10 call shifts per month and 1–2 weekends per month
- 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NBSTSA certification preferred
- Experience with adolescent patient populations preferred
- Surgical experience in OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, Urology, Robotics, Orthopedics (including total joints), Neuro/Cranial, or Transplant
- Flexible endoscope reprocessing experience, particularly with Bronchoscopes, EGD Scopes, and EBUS
