Contract | Onsite | Day Shift (0700–1930); additional shift options include 1100–2330 and 2300–0700 | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving ortho trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, OB/GYN oncology, and acute medical patients
• Titrate drips per prescribed nomogram, including heparin and occasionally nitroglycerin, bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin
• Collaborate with telemetry technicians who monitor cardiac rhythms 24/7; RNs are not required to independently read telemetry strips
• Work alongside nursing assistants and a charge nurse (who carries an assignment) on all shifts, with house supervisor support available at all times
• Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy in coordination with respiratory therapy staff; no ventilator management required
• Float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units as needed; during evening and overnight shifts, assume additional responsibility for vital signs and ADLs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Must live at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate; candidates living within 80 miles are considered local and will be subject to a reduced rate
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for orthopedic, vascular, or urological post-surgical patients
• Familiarity with continuous bladder irrigation and wound care management
• Experience with heparin drip titration and nomogram-based protocols
• Comfort working in a block-scheduled environment without self-scheduling
