Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population ranging from newborns to the elderly, including minor complaints through critically ill presentations
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of drips including vasopressor, cardiac, and antihypertensive medications with proficiency
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor readings using Philips monitoring equipment
• Perform and assist with lab draws in collaboration with ED techs; support radiology transport coordination as needed
• Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; travelers will not be assigned as the primary nurse in the trauma bay
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, charge nurses, ED techs, respiratory therapists, and a 24/7 house supervisor

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ENPC or PALS certification required
• TNCC or TNS certification required
• Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience preferred
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment preferred
• SANE RN experience preferred
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with resident physicians preferred
