Contract | 12-Hour Evening Shifts (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM) | Rotating Schedule | Monday–Sunday | Weekend and holiday requirements apply | No on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy community Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric populations, ranging from neonate to geriatric
• Manage patient assignments that may include boarded patients, psychiatric patients, and high-acuity cases; nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 and may be higher based on census volume
• Independently initiate IV access, perform EKGs, administer respiratory treatments, and manage pharmacy-prepared drips
• Document accurately and thoroughly using the Epic electronic medical records system
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy (available 24/7), anesthesia (available 24/7), CNAs/PCTs, unit clerks, and crisis clinicians to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Adhere to all unit-specific protocols including a strict zero-tolerance policy for cell phone and earbud use while on duty

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license, or documented proof of application with applied date, required at time of submission (note: NY licensure processing may take 6–8 weeks)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in an Emergency Room setting
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC (active or proof of scheduled class prior to start), and NIHSS certification required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
• Ability to work comfortably with nurse-to-patient ratios exceeding 1:4 in a high-volume community ED environment
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation is not accessible in this area — vehicle should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
