Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Acute Care for the Elderly – ACE Unit)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telemetry-capable medical-surgical nursing care to hospitalized patients aged 65 and older on a 26-bed ACE unit, with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Conduct dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including remote telemetry monitoring
• Implement and manage heparin protocols in accordance with facility standards
• Deliver geriatric-focused care aimed at preserving cognitive and physical function and supporting return to pre-admission baseline
• Float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where documented competencies have been established

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (Compact) RN license — pending licenses are not accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be fully eligible; applicants between 90–99.9 miles may be considered at a reduced rate; applicants under 90 miles are not eligible — please refer to submittal instructions for complete radius rule details

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with geriatric patient populations in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary team-based care models focused on mobility and recovery
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are also accepted
