Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend coverage (may vary based on facility need)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit serving an adult and geriatric population with conditions including respiratory diseases, infections, dementia, and neurological issues
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR (minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required)
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census, performing only tasks for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented
• Demonstrate MS/Telemetry skill set and pass a required EKG exam prior to assignment
• Complete all required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements within designated timeframes

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN License
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical nursing (candidates with 1+ year of experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
• MS/Telemetry competencies required; must pass an EKG exam
• Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be eligible at full rate; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for elderly patients with complex, multi-system disease processes
• Familiarity with Omnicell medication management systems
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
