Surgical Technologist – General/Vascular OR

Contract | Expected 36–40 hours/week | Shift options include three 12-hour, four 10-hour, or five 8-hour shifts; start and end times are negotiable

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub technologist duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including general, vascular, orthopedic, and neurological procedures
• Maintain knowledge of and proficiency with surgical instrumentation and central processing protocols
• Participate in an on-call rotation, with approximately every 5th weekend as a call weekend (split between Call 1 and Call 2) and 1–2 call shifts per week; call volume may increase based on department needs and staffing changes
• Adhere to a 30-minute on-site response time from the moment of call
• Participate in holiday call rotation as required, based on patient census and staffing levels

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Current BLS certification required
• Demonstrated broad, current experience across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurological, and vascular procedures
• Strong critical thinking skills with solid knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation
• Candidates with minimal requested time off will receive priority consideration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred but not required
• Experience managing high-acuity, complex surgical cases across a wide range of specialties
• Familiarity with call rotation structures and ability to meet strict response time requirements
