Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care clinic patients
• Circulate in the OR — required for this role; unit includes 4 operating rooms
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Float to postpartum and antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• High-risk Labor and Delivery experience required
• Ability to circulate in the OR — hard stop requirement
• Ability to function as Baby Nurse and perform newborn care including eyes, vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced Labor and Delivery environments with high daily census (approximately 15 patients/day; 500–600 deliveries/month)
• Familiarity with Adult Recovery Services or substance recovery support within an OB setting
