Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document patient treatment as part of occupational therapy care.
• Assess patient needs and develop individualized programs aimed at rehabilitation, utilizing physician prescriptions, patient history, and evaluation findings.
• Select appropriate therapeutic activities to aid recovery, including diversional or educational interventions.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA/OTA), providing supervision and guidance on treatment procedures.
• Complete all documentation, billing, and compliance requirements accurately and timely.
• Ensure all care adheres to hospital policies, accreditation standards, state practice acts, and professional guidelines.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program with a Bachelor’s degree (if graduated before 1/1/2002) or Master’s degree (if graduated after 1/1/2002).
• Eligible for or hold a current Occupational Therapy license in the state of practice.
• Certification in CPR, or willingness to become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with shared lifting capacity of up to 100 pounds.
• Willingness to work at multiple locations as assigned.
• Proof of valid driver’s license and, if driving a personal vehicle, proof of insurance.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Clinical experience gained through educational training or prior work.
• Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association is a plus.
• Experience supervising or collaborating with therapy assistants.
