Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal periods.
- Monitor fetal heart rate and perform obstetric procedures, including assisting with bedside exams and obstetric interventions.
- Support high-risk maternal and neonatal patients, including stabilization and transfer coordination.
- Educate patients and families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or eligible for licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, fetal monitoring, and emergency response.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing.
- Proficiency with medical equipment such as fetal monitors and EKG machines.
- Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
