Key Responsibilities

• Provide intraoperative assistance to surgeons by aiding in exposure, hemostasis, and closure.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support surgical procedures by executing technical functions under surgeon supervision, maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
• Document role as the first assistant on perioperative records, functioning within supervision guidelines.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to promote safe and effective surgical outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technician preferred or graduate of a certified surgical tech program.
• Minimum of two years of scrub experience in an operating room setting.
• Hands-on training in suturing, ligating, and identifying anatomy required.
• Current American Heart CPR certification.
• Ability to achieve and maintain certification as a Surgical First Assistant (STFA) following certifying body rules.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Operating Room Technician with documented on-the-job experience.
• Experience with advanced surgical procedures and intraoperative support.
• Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, suturing, and hemostasis techniques.
