Job Title

• Registered Nurse – Operating Room

• State College, PA

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 8-hour shifts, rotating shifts with weekend coverage and voluntary call, approximately 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional perioperative nursing care in the operating room, following AORN standards and hospital policies.
• Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively to develop and update individualized care plans.
• Ensure the availability and functionality of supplies and equipment necessary for safe surgical procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to aseptic and safety principles during all surgical interventions.
• Document patient care, surgical specimens, and relevant procedural information accurately.
• Educate patients and families about perioperative procedures and postoperative care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program; BSN preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with perioperative nursing practices and the use of biomedical equipment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally at all times.
• Strong technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Willingness to participate in in-house OR training if needed.
