Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of patient care during surgical procedures under the supervision of registered nurses and surgical staff.
- Establish and maintain sterile fields, including gowning, gloving, and surgical scrubbing according to policies.
- Prepare, sterilize, and manage surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficient procedures and minimize patient stress.
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection control policies to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with patient transfer, positioning, and care before, during, and after surgery.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military training.
- Certified as a Surgical Technologist with current certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per American Heart Association standards, renewed every two years.
- Minimum of three years’ operating room experience preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Cesarean Sections, Orthopedic, General, and Vascular surgeries.
- Knowledge of all surgical equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrated dexterity and ability to handle complex surgical instruments.
- Strong team player with the ability to work well under pressure and in a stressful environment.
