- Full-time, night shifts (3x12-hour shifts per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for mothers and newborns in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit.
- Function as a Baby Nurse during deliveries, including newborn assessments, eye and thigh injections, and vitals, until transfer to postpartum.
- Monitor fetal well-being via electronic fetal monitoring and respond to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Support post-partum care, including assessments and education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Adhere to AWHONN guidelines and facility protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of recent experience in high-risk, high-acuity Labor and Delivery units.
- Current RN license with active compact privileges (for non-Swedish facilities, eligible if separated for at least 3 months).
- Proof of required certifications at the time of submission, including BLS, NRP, and current clinical review approval.
- Must have current Nursys verification.
- Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC electronic health record system.
- Ability to circulate during deliveries and perform newborn assessments, including eye and thigh injections, and medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-risk Labor and Delivery environments.
- Ability to float to related units such as postpartum and mother/baby care as needed.
