Registered Nurse PACU

Job Title

• Registered Nurse (PACU) - Outpatient Surgery / Ambulatory

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Day shifts, 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients in outpatient surgery settings, including PACU Phase I and II recovery.
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and manage IV therapy.
• Obtain operative/procedural consent, discharge instructions, and follow-up calls.
• Maintain accurate charting using EPIC electronic health records.
• Assist with various surgical specialties, such as Endoscopy, Orthopedics, ENT, Neuro ENT, Podiatry, and General Surgery.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control protocols and emergency response procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or a compact license.
• At least 2 years of experience in Ambulatory/Outpatient care, Phase I PACU, or Phase II Recovery.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
• Ability to handle emergency medications and anesthesia types including general, local, conscious sedation, and nerve blocks.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in outpatient surgery centers with specialties such as Endoscopy, Orthopedics, ENT, or Neuro ENT.
• Strong understanding of lab value interpretation and infection control precautions.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and follow-up care.
