Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cardiovascular surgeries, including prepping and receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation.
- Support a variety of complex surgical procedures such as Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Valve Replacement, Atrial Septal Defect Repair, and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) placement.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely and accurate setup for cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
- Maintain and verify required certifications and equipment readiness for all procedures.
- Adhere to hospital protocols related to cardiac operating room procedures and patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar CVOR setting.
- Active and in-hand cardiovascular or perioperative licenses.
- BCLS and NBSTSA certifications required.
- Experience with Level 1 Trauma Center procedures preferred.
- Ability to work 10-hour days on a 4x10 schedule (11:00 AM – 9:30 PM), including working 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with complex cardiac cases such as TAVR, EVAR, TEVAR, and heart/lung transplants.
- Knowledge of robotic-assisted cardiac surgical procedures.
- Ability to float within hospital departments if needed.
- Prior experience with vascular and thoracic surgery cases.
