Job Title

• Registered Nurse (Cardiac Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 36 hours/week, Night shifts (12 hours) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and stroke patients, including pre- and post-procedure monitoring.
• Titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Monitor and manage stable patients with ventilator support such as high-flow O2, non-rebreather masks, and BIPAP (chronic use only).
• Perform IV starts, telemetry, and handle complex cardiac patients with acuity and timely patient turnover.
• Respond to call requirements and participate in on-call duties based on census needs.
• Float within the hospital or to nearby facilities as necessary, maintaining flexibility and clinical competency.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a cardiac or telemetry unit with acuity similar to the described setting.
• ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications.
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drips management.
• Valid NC or compact state RN license (pending acceptance is OK; must be in hand at start).
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to orientation.
• Willingness to work nights and float within the hospital.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience, especially in fast-paced cardiac units.
• Experience managing complex cardiac rhythms and procedures, including pacemakers and ICDs.
• Comfortable with high patient turnover and rapid unit pace.
