Key Responsibilities
- Administer safe and effective respiratory care as ordered by physicians, including specialty areas such as Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care.
- Monitor mechanical ventilation, perform airway management, and assist with intubations.
- Conduct patient assessments, interpret blood work and diagnostic data, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws, troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Document all procedures accurately in accordance with department policies.
- Assist in training and orienting new staff, students, and residents.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
- BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- NRP certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- At least one year of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience.
- Ability to evaluate patient respiratory status and provide appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pulmonary diagnostics.
- Knowledge of cardiac diagnostic procedures such as EKG and Holter monitoring.
