Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units, including post-procedure and telemetry patients.
• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias, arterial and venous sheaths, and various cardiac procedures.
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Lasix, and Nitro.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure rapid patient turnover and maintain quality patient care.
• Follow unit protocols for patient management, including managing complex cardiac cases and responding to emergent situations.
• Float to similar units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and proficiency across cardiac-related inpatient settings.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state, in hand at start.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
• Proficiency in IV start and telemetry monitoring.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH.
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiac procedures like pre/post cardiac cath, PPM, AICD, and stress tests.
• Knowledge of managing cardiac arrhythmias and titratable cardiac medications.
• Previous travel nursing experience in similar units is a plus.
