Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care to labor and delivery patients, demonstrating independence and clinical competence.
- Assess patient needs and develop care plans aligned with best practices and clinical standards.
- Monitor patient progress, administer medications and treatments, and document care accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff and coordinate patient care activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas or a compact license.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA.
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA.
- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) from NCC or AWHONN Intermediate FHM course.
- One year of related nursing experience preferred.
- Completion of new nurse orientation and organizational competency validation within first 30 days.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent practice in a perinatal or labor and delivery setting.
- Perinatal RN residency experience.
