Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Room setting treating an average of 65 patients per day across all age groups

• Manage and administer common ER drips including vasopressors, insulin, and other critical infusions

• Independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips in the absence of monitor technicians

• Perform and assist with lab draws, procedures, and patient assessments in collaboration with PCTs and ancillary staff

• Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, supporting a 16-bed department with a dedicated triage area

• Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling with every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience

• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

• Current ACLS certification

• Current PALS certification

• Ability to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification preferred

• Experience managing common ER diagnoses including sepsis, CHF, pneumonia, suicidal ideation, and abdominal pain

• Familiarity with respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
