Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative care for patients in a Level I trauma center with a focus on trauma and general surgery cases.
• Assist with a variety of service lines, excluding cardiovascular (CV), including bariatric, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, and trauma cases.
• Prepare operating rooms, administer anesthesia support, and manage surgical instrumentation and supplies.
• Respond to emergency situations, including trauma and code responses, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN licensure or in application process.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent operating room nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification; CNOR preferred.
• Level I trauma experience required.
• Valid experience with general, bariatric, neuro, ortho, plastic, transplant, urology, and trauma surgical cases.
• Knowledge of Cerner EMR system preferred.
• Ability to work within scope, float as needed, and adhere to hospital protocols and safety procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with laparoscopic-assisted bariatric and general surgeries.
• Familiarity with trauma response, including amputations, MVA injuries, gunshot/stab wounds.
• Experience with complex neurology and orthopedic procedures, including craniotomies, fusion surgeries, and fracture reductions.
• Knowledge of organ donation procedures and transplant-related care.
