Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical (Urology/Nephrology)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, Night shifts (3x12-hour shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing care to adult patients in a 25-bed medical/surgical unit with a focus on Urology and Nephrology.
• Monitor and respond to cardiac telemetry, including remote monitoring and rapid response team activation.
• Manage genitourinary and renal cases, including pre/post-hemodialysis care and renal failure management.
• Administer IV therapies, including blood products, Heparin, and manage central and peripheral lines.
• Perform respiratory interventions such as chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, and oxygen therapy.
• Follow infection control protocols, wound care procedures, and utilize Cerner for charting and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Skilled in telemetry, IV therapy, and renal/nephrology patient care.
• Proficient in Cerner electronic health record system.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing complex genitourinary and renal cases, including dialysis.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and isolation precautions.
• Familiarity with hospital-specific protocols including wound vac management.
• Ability to float within scope to other Medical Surgical units.
