Registered Nurse Operating Room

Job Title

• Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 5x8-hour day shifts, on-site, traveling position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Document patient care activities using Meditech charting system.
• Respond promptly to on-call emergencies, arriving within 30 minutes when required.
• Float to other departments as needed, in rotation with staff, adhering to facility policies.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, including holiday and occasional weekend shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2.5 years of OR experience.
• Valid nursing license or Compact license in New Mexico or applicable state.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification.
• Ability to work days in a hospital with critical access setting (25 beds).
• Willingness to work some holidays and weekends.
• Must be a first-time traveler accepted for this role.
• Travelers within 70 miles of Silver City are considered local, but locals are not accepted.
• No pending licenses.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech charting system.
• Prior surgical or perioperative nursing experience in a critical access hospital.
