Full-time, 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit with a patient census of 56 beds.
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, respiratory failure, liver or kidney failure, behavioral health, and addiction.
• Utilize advanced skills in handling central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.
• Administer medications including titratable drips like Heparin and Lasix, following established protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team, including PCTs and respiratory therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient progress using Epic electronic health records and monitor telemetry as required.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license or proof of application process.
• BLS certification.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records and MedSurg floors, ideally with trauma center background.
• Knowledge of managing central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.
• Ability to read telemetry strips from Phillips monitors.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level I trauma center.
• Travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilator management (BiPAP, CPAP) and medication titration.
