Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization, arteriograms, electrophysiology, and other specialized procedures under sterile technique

• Prepare examination and procedure areas, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready prior to each case

• Position patients appropriately for procedures and operate complex radiology and cardiac equipment in accordance with established protocols

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support across a department performing approximately 5–10 procedures per day across 2 active procedure rooms

• Collaborate within a team of RNs and technologists in a Monday–Friday department, with rotating Saturday call coverage

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care for all patient populations served

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois licensure application process has been initiated

• Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology (EP) settings

• Ability to work in a sterile environment and assist with invasive cardiac and radiologic procedures

• Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus

• Ability to participate in a rotating Saturday call schedule (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working alongside Electrophysiologists in a dedicated EP lab environment

• Familiarity with specialized radiology equipment and imaging techniques used in cardiac procedures

• Experience in a high-acuity procedural unit with a collaborative RN and technologist team structure
