Job Title

• Full-time, Night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in a stepdown/ICU setting with a patient census of 20 beds.
• Manage and titrate vasoactive drips, arterial lines, and other critical medications.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, responding appropriately to emergent situations.
• Administer blood products, IV medications, and perform invasive procedures such as line management and chest tube care.
• Recognize and respond to rapid response calls, managing unstable patients with respiratory distress or hemodynamic instability.
• Follow strict infection control protocols and utilize bedside telemetry monitors.

Required Qualifications

• Valid NC or Compact Nursing License in hand at start.
• Minimum two years of ICU or stepdown experience, with strong arterial line and vasoactive drip skills.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Certification or equivalent required.
• Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia management, IV starts, and conscious sedation.
• Ability to float between units as needed and work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with high-flow nasal cannula, BIPAP, tracheostomy management, and external CPAP/BIPAP.
• Familiarity with Epic and Pyxis systems.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
