- Travel, Night shift, 13-week contract, full-time (12.5-hour shifts), nights only, working 3 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to high-acuity cardiac and vascular surgery patients in a 19-bed CVICU setting.
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac devices such as IABP, Impella, LVADs, and ECMO.
- Perform advanced procedures including chest tube management, pacing wire removal, and hemodynamic assessment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional critical care and facilitate patient recovery.
- Assist with patient ambulation and other recovery activities to promote optimal outcomes.
- Follow unit policies and utilize GE monitors and Cerner EMR for documentation and care coordination.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license recognized in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU or CVRU experience.
- Critical care training background, with a passion for surgical heart care.
- Ability to work high energy, positively impact team dynamics, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care.
- Experience with advanced cardiac devices (ECMO, Impellas, LVADs).
- Familiarity with GE monitors and Cerner EMR system.
