Job Title

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Telemetry, Emergency Department Holding Support

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-week contracts available, on-site

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in a high-acuity emergency department holding unit for adult medical/surgical patients.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and utilize rapid response teams as needed.
• Perform colostomy, feeding tube, PICC line, and blood product management, along with renal failure management.
• Administer medications, including Heparin and Insulin, and ensure strict isolation precautions.
• Manage advanced airway devices such as CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and perform arterial blood gas interpretation.
• Support patient care including wound management, neuro, ortho trauma, and post-surgical needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or eligible via Compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, particularly in medical-surgical or telemetry units.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and critical care procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, access port management, and central line blood draws.
• Experience with neuro, spinal cord injury, trauma, orthopedic surgery, or wound care.
• Ability to float across ED, MedSurg, and PCU units as needed.
