- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 4 shifts per week, 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, working within a team nursing model to support patient outcomes.
- Manage ventilated patients, including those with trachs, vents, bipaps, and high-oxygen requirements, with Respiratory Therapist support.
- Administer and monitor IV drips such as insulin, heparin, and Cardizem, and interpret patient strips in accordance with EPIC documentation.
- Follow unit protocols for cardiac monitoring, including EKG competency and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including N95 fitting and appropriate PPE usage.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workload and patient care in a high-acuity environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license (state or compact license accepted)
- Minimum of 1.5 years of recent ICU or Stepdown/IMC/PCU experience with a 1:5 ratio in work history
- Ventilator management experience
- Ability to pass online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent travel nursing experience in ICU or PCU/Stepdown units
- Experience with Level 1 or Level 2 trauma or high-acuity nursing
- Oncology, COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Sepsis, DKA, or post-COVID care experience

Additional Details
- Unit is trialing team nursing, with flexible roles between team nursing and primary nursing.
- Must complete mandatory modules during orientation and annually.
- Shift time: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, nights, with a total of 4 shifts per week.
- Travel compliance requirements must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing, including lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia assessments.
- RTO (Request for Time Off) requests must be specified at application submission; no RTO will be added after offer.
- First to float to other units as needed, with appropriate training and PPE provided.
- Mileage and salary are not specified; local travel radius is 50 miles for nursing.
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs.
