Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a busy Medical-Surgical unit, managing an average census of 22 patients per shift.
• Utilize telemetry skills for remote cardiac monitoring and respond to emergency situations effectively.
• Perform GI care such as colostomy and feeding tube management.
• Manage pre/post-hemodialysis and renal failure cases within the unit.
• Administer IV therapies including blood products, central line draws, and medication administration.
• Support patients with neurological and orthopedic needs, including spinal cord injuries and surgical drains.
• Handle respiratory care procedures like CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and tracheostomy management.

Required Qualifications

• Valid active IL nursing license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and telemetry.
• Proficiency in GI care, renal management, IV therapy, medication administration, and respiratory support.
• Strong knowledge of infection control procedures, wound care, and isolation precautions.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical drains and post-surgical care.
• Ability to float to different units within scope as needed.
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend and up to 5 days of RTO with manager approval.
