Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in an acute care hospital setting.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products while managing peripheral and PICC lines.
• Implement and monitor isolation precautions, ensuring patient safety and compliance with infection control protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update patient care plans.
• Float within the department as needed to meet facility staffing requirements.
• Document patient progress accurately using Cerner electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois nursing license or in the application process with ETA.
• Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a medical-surgical or equivalent unit.
• BLS certification.
• Proficiency in blood product administration, phlebotomy, and IV therapy.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and infection control standards.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner charting system.
• Experience working in a Level I trauma acute care hospital.
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Comfortable working in a magnet hospital environment.
