Contract | Nights | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Weekday and weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for ventilated patients, including initiating and titrating IV drips such as vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics

• Assist with intubations and line placement as needed

• Monitor critically ill patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, myocardial infarctions, pulmonary embolism, and pneumonia

• Care for both ICU and progressive care patients within a mixed-acuity unit, with a higher frequency of progressive patient assignments

• Utilize unit equipment including Phillips heart monitors, Epic (EMR), Pyxis, EKG machines, and dopplers

• Float as needed to other ICU, progressive care, or medical-surgical units while maintaining a 1:3 ratio across all settings

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license

• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only

• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only

• Minimum of 1.5 years of ICU experience

• Strong critical thinking, reasoning, and flexibility in a fast-paced critical care environment

• Team-oriented and personable with a solid foundation in medical and critical care patient management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of ICU experience preferred

• Experience managing progressive care patients in addition to ICU-level patients

• Familiarity with Epic EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
