Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services across general medical, intermediate, and ICU patient populations including adults, pediatrics, and neonates
- Manage daily treatment assignments using the AARC point system, averaging approximately 26–28 points per day
- Operate and monitor primary ventilators including Servo U, Servo i, and LTV, as well as BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high-flow equipment
- Collaborate with on-site hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7 to support patient care decisions
- Work alongside a shift team lead who serves as a resource and does not carry a patient assignment
- Complete department-specific orientation including EMR training, ventilator review, and precepted clinical shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
- BLS certification required
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credential required; RRT strongly preferred
- Experience in a large critical care facility (300 beds or more)
- Demonstrated experience in critical care respiratory therapy
- Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen
Preferred Experience / Skills
- RRT credential preferred over CRT
- Familiarity with ResMed S9 for BiPAP/CPAP and Fisher & Paykel heated high-flow systems
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records platform
