Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 46-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio

• Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring and EKG readings

• Manage and assess patients post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) and post-dialysis

• Operate unit equipment including telemetry boxes, IV pumps, PCA pumps, and vital signs monitors

• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse electronic health record system

• Float as needed to post-surgical Med/Surg or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support telemetry overflow

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; compact license accepted where applicable

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience

• Telemetry experience required

• Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) experience required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be certified annually)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred

• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vac, and surgical drains

• Proficiency with central lines, blood transfusions, CPAP management, and port access

• Post-dialysis assessment skills
