Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts) | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit with a 5:1 RN-to-patient ratio
- Assist patients requiring significant physical support, including multi-person assist for mobility and activities of daily living
- Manage and monitor Heparin drips, TPN, and PCA pumps
- Perform continuous telemetry rhythm interpretation and respond to cardiac changes appropriately
- Care for patients with diagnoses including general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, spine, cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Float to all acute care units as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Kansas RN license or valid Compact RN license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience in a hospital setting (within the last 18 months)
- Experience working with a 5:1 RN-to-patient ratio
- Proficiency with Heparin drips, TPN, PCA, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
- No new graduates accepted; prior acute care hospital experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Background in General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedics, and/or Spine nursing
- Familiarity with common diagnoses such as cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Experience with EPIC EMR
