Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an acute care Medical Surgical setting, managing patients with infections, chronic disease complications, and comorbidities

• Care for post-operative patients recovering from general surgery, colorectal, gynecologic oncology, urology, and procedural gastroenterology procedures

• Monitor patient progress, assess changes in condition, and implement appropriate nursing interventions

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans

• Support short-stay surgical patients through their recovery, typically ranging from one to two days

• Participate in mentoring and precepting programs to support team development and nursing excellence

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

• Ability to work night shift hours

• Demonstrated ability to manage patients with varying levels of acuity

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and teamwork

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, acute care, or post-operative nursing environment

• Familiarity with gynecologic oncology, urology, or gastroenterology patient populations

• Experience with or interest in precepting and mentoring new nursing staff

• Comfort managing a diverse patient census across multiple specialty areas
